Choosing the Right Accessories...

The options are endless when it comes to accessorizing.  When choosing your accessories I believe that whatever catches your eye first should be the first step.  Everyone is automatically drawn to a certain type of style.  Whether it is traditional, eclectic, contemporary, European, country, etc. we always tend to be drawn to that style.  Lamps add a sense of coziness and comfort to any room and the selection of lamps are endless.  When I'm shopping for a lamp I always keep in mind the shape, color and size.  You don't want the lamp to be as big and wide as the table.  I generally like to have room for two other items and a place to put a book or a drink. 
                                   

Knowing Your Design Personality...

Most people don’t realize that their home always reflects their individuality.   The minute you walk into a home specific things will tend to stand out above others: the type of window treatments, the accessories on the tables, the number of framed artwork on the walls or even something as specific as the particular types of frames around the artwork.  Color selection also speaks volumes about the individual as does the style of the furnishings. Other indicators come from their sense of organization, or lack thereof, and how well everything flows.

How the interior of your home looks is a very personal matter.  Although there are many basic rules & technical aspects that apply to sound principles of interior design, when it comes to residential interiors, the home should reflect its owner's personality.  It is important to have correct space planning and the right color coordination.  But, as the old says goes, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
